Kā skolotāja un skolas vadītāja bija tik, tik svarīgi man, ka katrs bērns ar kuru sadarbojos zināja, ka es dziļi ticēju šiem vārdiem:
"Tu esi radības pirmā un pēdējā iespēja būt - Tu! Tieši tāds/a kā esi šodien. Tas ir viss, kam Tev ir jābūt. Ir tikai viens Tu uz visiem laikiem. Bezbailīgi esi sava patiesā esamība. Tev ir nozīme.'
Turklāt, es ļoti gribēju, lai katrs bērns šo zina un dziļi tic pats/i par sevi. Es ticu, ka šī ir vienīgā veida kā cilvēks var gāzt kalnus šaisaulē. Caur milzīgi pašpārliecību, kas nav iesakņota šaisaulē zem mūsu kājām, bet izplaukst no plašumiem un Visuma, kas mūs ieskauj. Ikkatrs no mums ir vienreizīgs un neatkārtojams, un kaut ko īpašu varam dot un dāvināt, ko neviens cits nevar un nekad atkal nevarēs, tiklīdz ka protam pasargāt un saglabāt šo gaismiņu.
Izrādās tas izklausās daudz vienkāršāk nekā tas patiesībā ir šajos pinkainos džungļos, kas ir dzīve.....
As a teacher and school leader, it was so important for me that every child who crossed my path knew that I firmly believed this:
"You are creation’s first and last chance to be you. Just as you are today. That’s all you have to be. There is only one you for all of time. Fearlessly be your true self. You matter."
Moreover, I wanted it to know and believe this deeply about themselves. Not only do I believe this is true, but I also believe this is the only way anyone ever moves mountains here on earth. Through a heaping dose of confidence that isn't actually rooted in the earth below us, but is grounded in the expanse that surrounds us. Each and every one of us is one-of-a-kind and unrepeatable with something to offer and give that no one else can and no one else ever will, as long as we can preserve and protect that light inside.
Turns out this sounds far simpler than it actually is in these messy jungles called life.....
Everyone has their own star,
We just need to know how to preserve/protect it,
So that it stays until the end of life
As the light that is beside each of us on our journey.
